Front Office Representative

Job Summary: The Front Office Registration Clerk is the first point of contact with patients and serves one of the most important functions in our facilities. The Front Office Registration Clerk will courteously and professionally greet patients and obtain accurate demographic and insurance information for registration. They are responsible for obtaining the required forms and documentation, greeting and assisting patients and visitors and answering and transferring telephone calls. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, holding self and others accountable in meeting the mission, vision, and goals of the company.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Medical front desk experience preferred.
  • Ensures each patient is given the highest level of customer service and every staff member is treated with the utmost respect. Displays professionalism, tact, and team effort when working with co-workers and the general public.
  • Register patients, ensuring correct documents are signed and distributed. All registrations are completed accurately for timely billing. Scan patient records into the electronic medical record system (GoRev) following established guidelines.
  • Verify insurance information per correct process based on patient insurance and explain alternative payment methods, if applicable.
  • Collect payment from the patient. Deposit cash/checks into safe, make change for patients as needed and record all payment transactions in Waystar.
  • Ensure all demographic, clinical, lab/x-ray and other information and forms are complete and have all required signatures from patient care staff before scanning into an electronic charting system.
  • Perform an audit of the patient chart(s) from prior shift, ensuring that applicable signatures, documents, stickers, etc. are correct and complete.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Assists with the cleaning, restocking patient nourishment and supplies. Responsible for keeping the lobby area and front entrance clean and neat.
  • Maintains all logs, including but not limited to Financial, and patient chart audits.
  • Maintains consistent and professional attendance and punctuality in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policy, professional appearance per the dress code policy, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate (written & oral) with individuals and groups of various backgrounds and educational levels in high-stress situations.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company-sponsored meetings as required

Paramedic

Job description

  • Collect, report, and document clinical data, including, but not limited to: laboratory tests, vital signs, specimens, medical/surgical histories, medications, and complaints
  • Assist with patient activities and medical care as assigned by the RN and/or the ED physician
  • Including, but not limited to, medication administration. Note: Some medications will be prohibited.
  • Act as a team member of the code team
  • Wound care-Irrigation of wounds, bandages and dressings
  • Venipuncture and IV placement and assisting RN with maintenance of IV fluids under MD direction
  • Placement of patient on cardiac monitor, performs 12-lead EKG and report results to physician.
  • Suctioning
  • Orthopedic-application of splints, immobilizer, ace bandages, measurement of crutches and crutch training
  • Provide for patient safety related to age and condition
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Provide and maintain a clean, safe environment and perform and/or assist others to perform proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
  • Prepare patients and chaperone during exams/procedures and assists with other patient treatments
  • Maintain patient care areas with supplies
  • Assist with restraints and maintains precautions; collect, report, and document data related to patient safety/emotional/physical needs

  • Running lab equipment QC daily or every 30 days as indicated by manufacturer per instrument
  • Documenting corrective action when QC is out of range for lab equipment
  • Ensuring all maintenance is performed and documented per lab instrument
  • Maintaining proper draw order of lab tubes
  • Labeling tubes, secondary devices, and specimen(s) at the patient’s bedside
  • Performs proper preparation and requisitions for send out lab specimens.
  • Maintain knowledge of operation of lab instruments, including but not limited to, Medonic, Triage, Piccolo, UA instruments, Hemocue, Hemochek and all other point of care testing (turning on/shutting down, running samples, reporting results)
  • Use proper PPE in the lab, during specimen collection, and during patient care
  • Must maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time-off policies.
  • Travel to all facilities locations as required (potentially during your shift).
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored meetings as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Assist the front office as needed. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Obtaining complete and accurate demographic, insurance and financial data to complete patient registration.
  • Update and maintain patient database according to established procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patient(s) and/or guardian(s) during check-in and discharge.

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
